Winter Visitor
Migrates tomountainous districts and groves in flats in winter. The number of visitsvaries considerably from year to year－in some years very few arrivals, whilea large flock of more than 1,000 was observed on Mt. Takao in February,2008. Observation records are mainly between November to next March in thisarea.　　 Both male and female have rufous breasts and flanks. The male’scrown is darker than the female.
