Amongsandpipers and plovers at Asakawa River, the bird can be seen through theyear like Long-billed Plover. Somber olive-brown back, white on lower breastcurves around bend of wing; constantly bobs the tail up and down inteetering motion. Usually observed along sluggish streams, but sometimesperches on branches during breeding season. Distinctive white wing bars inflight.
