Common summervisitor in Asakawa River basin. During a walk on forest road in earlysummer, the speciesf monotone po-po po-po voice may be heard. Althoughsimilar to Common Cuckoo, Little Cuckoo, Hodgsonfs Hawk-Cuckoo, their voicesare quite different from each other and easily recognizable. Like othercuckoos, the species is brood-parasitic, and lays its eggs in other birdfsnests, mainly the nest of Eastern Crowned-Warbler.
