| InAsakawa River basin, the species are found in stagnant streams, ponds, andmarshy areas. The largest among water rails. Almost totally black withupperparts slightly greyish. White bill and frontal shield are diagnostic.In flight, tips of secondaries show a narrow white edge. Webbed feetcalledgpinnatiped.h Though the bird is classified as a winter visitor here,we have an observation record in August. | ||||
