Summer visitor to Asakawa River basin, visiting here in late April to thebeginning of May, but the number of observation has been declining. Wingcovert feathers are bordered with white, which look like bamboo leaves,hence its Japanese name of “sasa-goi”; “sasa”for dwarf bamboo and “goi” for heron.
